SimpleContacts
Simple Contacts enables patients to take their eye exams through an app, renew their prescription, and order their brand of contact lens.
As the 2nd product designer on the team, I spent my time conducting user research, designing for new product launches, creating low/high-fi wireframes, clickable prototypes, and a comprehensive style guide for the responsive web and mobile app.

Overview
Below is a sample of the design work that I've delivered. My goal is always to improve the user's experience. In doing so, I've also significantly improved quantitative metrics including conversion, average order value, and the rate of returning users.
I've collaborated closely with product managers, developers, and marketing to understand the technical and user-centered problems, refine the product, and bring my designs to life.
The goal of the Face and Distance Calibration project was to automate aspects of the eye chart test, so that we could decrease the average order processing time and take the load off of the patient experience team.
By saving 5 different orientations of the patient's face, we could detect whether they were standing an appropriate distance away from the camera.
This optimization eliminated manual verification steps that were previously conducted by Simple Health employees, enabling us to decrease the average order processing time by approximately 7 hours (from 24hrs to 17hrs).

Orders and Subscription Settings for Responsive Web
These are future designs for how customers could edit their order details and subscription settings.

Enrolling Users in Subscribe/Save
The Subscribe/Save project is an example of a small UX change which resulted in a substantial increase in users opting into the service. On this project, I worked closely with the PM to growth hack our design and increase average order value.
Previously, users opted into re-orders via text, but by adding small reminders throughout the site, and letting users know about the subscription discount, we saw over 15% increase in users opting into subscriptions.
WEB

MOBILE APP

The product display page was a project focused on increasing the average order value. Prior we did not have a way for users to select the number of boxes from the product page, and it wasn't obvious how to get discounted rate by adding more boxes. I created several versions of the product page and user tested
in the office to see how participants understand and select their order quantity. Based on the research, we shipped the best design, and saw the conversion rate go up nearly 30% on the web and mobile web and the average order value $10 higher than the control group (7% increase).

IMPACT ON CONVERSION THROUGH IMPROVED UX

Simple Contacts Blog Template for Responsive Web
The blog was the first project I worked at SimpleContacts. I collaborated with the marketing to create a blog template which would increase our SEO. Main design considerations to increase SEO were to set font sizes above 16px and to show more articles above the fold.

User Profile on Mobile App
While designing the user profile pages on the mobile app, I also developed a UI guide for form boxes. I advocated for consistent form box UIs across the web and mobile app by sharing the guide with development, and creating Asana tickets for existing UIs that were inconsistent.
