Simple Contacts empowers users to complete eye exams via an app, renew their prescriptions, and order their preferred contact lenses. As the second product designer on the team, my role encompassed conducting user research, designing for new product launches, crafting low/high-fi wireframes, developing clickable prototypes, and establishing a comprehensive style guide for both the responsive web and mobile app.

Overview

Here's a sample of my design work focused on enhancing user experience and driving measurable improvements in conversion, average order value, and user retention rates. Collaborating closely with product managers, developers, and marketing, I address both technical and user-centered challenges to bring designs to life.

Face and Distance Calibration

The Face and Distance Calibration project aimed to automate the eye chart test, reducing average order processing time and easing the patient experience team's workload. By saving multiple face orientations, we automated distance verification, cutting out manual steps. This optimization reduced the average order processing time by ~7 hours, from 24 to 17 hours.

Orders and Subscription Settings for Responsive Web

I also redesigned the "My Orders" page so members can easily track their orders and manage subscriptions.

Enrolling Users in Subscribe/Save

The Subscribe/Save project showcases a small UX change that significantly boosted user engagement. Collaborating with the PM, we strategically incorporated reminders and communicated subscription discounts throughout the site. This led to a remarkable 15% increase in users opting for subscriptions, contributing to the growth of average order value.

Product Display Page

Focused on increasing average order value, the PDP project addressed a previous lack of clarity in selecting the number of boxes and accessing discounts. After creating and user-testing various page versions, the implemented design increased conversion rates by nearly 30% on both web and mobile web. The average order value rose by $10 compared to the control group, representing a 7% increase.

Simple Contacts Blog Template for Responsive Web

The blog was the first project I worked at SimpleContacts. I collaborated with the marketing to create a blog template which would increase our SEO. Main design considerations to increase SEO were to set font sizes above 16px and to show more articles above the fold.

User Profile on Mobile App

While designing the user profile pages on the mobile app, I also developed a UI guide for form boxes. I advocated for consistent form box UIs across the web and mobile app by sharing the guide with development, and creating Asana tickets for existing UIs that were inconsistent.
